Ravi Mehrotra’s Foresight linked to VLGC buy with more deals likely
October 10, 2022
LONDON: UK-based Foresight Group is reportedly continuing to add VLGCs as part of its big plans for the sector.
Brokers said the Ravi Mehrotra-controlled company is paying $50m for Belgian owner TransPetrol Maritime Services’ 81,000-cbm Progress (built 2009).
The gas carrier is worth $49m, according to VesselsValue.
The Progress was originally ordered by TransPetrol for $91m and then sold to Avance Gas in Norway in 2012 for $72m.
TransPetrol repurchased the vessel the next year for an undisclosed price.
The sale would leave the Belgian company with two other VLGCs built in 2015 and 2016, and seven tankers.
