Bhavnagar Port
A strong belief in India’s long-term economic growth—driven by one of the world’s youngest and most skilled populations and its position as a leading fast-growing economy—led two multi-generation industrial family businesses with shared values to envision Bhavnagar Port as a next-generation, multi-purpose smart port. Designed to handle Containers, Clean Bulk, Liquids, Chemicals, Ro-Ro, and the world’s first CNG terminal, the project reflects a bold, future-ready approach to infrastructure and nation-building.
Bhavnagar Port Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. is promoted by Foresight Group, Padmanabh Mafatlal Group and global maritime leader Boskalis of the Netherlands. United by a commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainable development, the partnership aims to build world-class marine infrastructure that drives socio-economic growth in Gujarat’s Saurashtra region and contributes meaningfully to India’s long-term economic progress.
Bhavnagar Port
Bhavnagar Port represents a transformative step in India’s port-led growth story. Conceived as a next-generation maritime gateway, the project will develop and modernize the northern side of the existing Bhavnagar Port, creating a future-ready hub for trade, logistics, and industrial growth.
Spread across 235 hectares, with an additional 250 hectares earmarked for future expansion, the port will be developed in phases, with construction commencing in the first half of 2025. Designed to serve evolving global and domestic trade flows, it will handle a wide spectrum of cargo—including containers, fertilizers, edible oils, liquids, and chemicals.
At its core, Bhavnagar Port will feature state-of-the-art maritime infrastructure, highlighted by one of the world’s largest navigation lock systems (385 × 50 meters). Built for efficiency, safety, and scale, the port is envisioned as a critical enabler of India’s maritime ambitions, supporting long-term economic growth and a resilient, future-focused logistics ecosystem.
